Don’t Buy The Lie       Jane H. Young

You are going about your day and out of the blue, the dreaded feeling of discouragement floods your heart like a tidal wave. It’s the devil knocking, do not let him in.  He’s worst then any house guess you have ever had and a lot harder to get rid of.

“Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”1Peter 5:8”

Jump on that feeling as soon as it raises it’s nasty head. Let the devil know that you are not the one he is going to devour this day.  Don't agree with his lie that your difficulties are bigger than God. Remind the devil that there is not now-nor will there ever be a  problem to big for God to handle .

We give Discouragement an open door when we take our eyes off the Lord and put them onto ourselves or our circumstances. Self-pity  is a straight path  to being discouraged. Don’t let it settle down inside of you it will take over who you are and what you do.

Take a moment and examine what you are saying to yourself. What kinds of things do you say ? Does it  include negative statements, such as “I’m miserable” “I’m just going to fail no matter what.” “I’m just a loser.” “No one loves me.” How can this ever lead to anything good?

Your problem doesn’t disappear when you complain. In fact, it just makes it them worse. Lay down the weapons that you aim at yourself.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”Romans 12:2 NASB

Thought: How do we so easily hear all the lies of the devil, and turn around and say we can’t hear from God? Pay attention to who you are spending the most time with!

Jane has a heart for serving God and making a difference in the lives of others.
