I’m going to ask you personal questions.

Do you have a personal relationship with Christ?

Have you asked Him to be your Savior and Lord?

I know that’s personal.

Most don’t feel comfortable sharing personal information.

It has been almost 55 years since my personal relationship with Christ was made real and public. I was dating a young man who would later make me his bride. He brought up the subject of making Jesus my personal Savior.

To be honest, I was offended at first. I believed in God; I prayed.

I knew about Jesus and believed He died on the cross to save the world. I believed in His resurrection. Yet, there was no depth to my belief.

The truth was I did not know Him as ‘my’ personal Savior and Lord.

Jesus became personal to me after strong feelings of conviction.  I knew I was guilty; I was a sinner.

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23 NKJV).”

He forgave me of my sins.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 NKJV).”

Jesus saved me.

“For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13 NKJV).”

I made a public commitment in church and shared my decision with my family and friends.

“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven (Matthew 10:32 NKJV).”

It is personal and it’s the most important decision anyone will ever make.

“And Thomas answered and said to Him, ‘My Lord and my God (John 20:28 NKJV)!”
