The Omnipresence of Jesus Christ

God is Omnipresent. He is everywhere. He is not limited by time and space. By the way, he created both time and space. If time stops existing today, He will still exist. He created all things, and if space and everything he created vanishes, He will still remain God. He fills all in all. He created eternity and everything we see and those things we do not see. His omnipresence is one of his characteristics. He is not only omniscient (All-knowing) and omnipotent (All-powerful), He is also omnipresent. This truth has been accepted by all believers and even by some unbelievers. Albeit, many do not know about the omnipresence of our Lord Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity Godhead. You will often hear believers say, “the Father is in heaven, Jesus is in heaven. But the Holy Spirit is here on earth”. Though that statement is true, albeit it is partially correct. The full truth is that the three members of the Godhead are omnipresent. The presence of the Godhead is everywhere. They are always together. Never separate from each other. God the Father is seated in heaven, Christ is seated at his right hand, but their presence is everywhere. The Holy Spirit is in heaven. At the same time, He is also here on earth. So we can boldly say that the Holy Spirit is here on earth working together with the Father and Christ. Now, let us look at some scriptures that confirm the omnipresence of Christ.

Ephesians 1:22-23

And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all (NKJV)

God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself (NLT).

In this first scripture, Ephesians 1:22-23, the scripture in New King James clearly stated that Christ fills all in all. The New Living Translation sheds more light on it, making us know that Christ fills all things. In other words, Christ is everywhere. Jesus died, resurrected, and ascended into heaven, and his presence fills everywhere in heaven and on earth. Glory be to God!

Matthew 28:19-20

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen

In the second scripture, Matthew 28:19-20, our Lord Jesus Christ clearly stated that He will be with his disciples always. In other words, He was telling them that wherever they go, He will be with them. He was assuring them that his presence would be with them whenever and wherever they go fulfilling the gospel mission. This is yet another scripture that confirms the omnipresence of Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ is with you and has promised to be with you always. Halleluyah!

John 14:23

Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him - John 14:23

In the third scripture, John 14:23, our Lord Jesus Christ reveals how the Father and Him will come to tabernacle with whoever loves him and keep his word. This also confirms the truth that the members of the trinity are always together. The day believers accept Christ as Lord, they receive the Father, Lord Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit into their hearts. Many believers used to think that it is only the Holy Spirit that dwells with them, while the Father and Lord Jesus are far away in heaven. With John 14:23, it is now clearer that the Father, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit also dwell with every believer. Jesus Christ is with you. Glory be to God!

Colossians 1:27

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory

This fourth scripture, Colossians 1:27 agrees with the third one. It clearly makes us understand that Christ is in us. Christ is in the heart of every believer. The Father, Christ, and Holy Spirit dwell in the heart of every believer. So Christ is not far away from you as most people think. He is not only with you, He is also in you. Halleluyah!

Matthew 18:20

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them – Matthew 18:20

This fifth scripture, Matthew 18:20 goes on to seal up the revelation. Jesus is not only with you and inside of you whenever you are alone, He is also with you whenever and wherever you come together with other saints. Glory be to God!

So from today, let it be a permanent reality to you that Jesus is in you, with you, and will always be with you, when you are alone and when you come together with other saints. Even though He is tangibly resident in heaven and will physically come to the earth for the rapture and second coming, and millennial reign, He is right there with you and His presence fills everywhere. Enjoy the omnipresence of our Lord Jesus Christ. Shalom!
