It is easier to take things in stride when walking with God. And, yes, sometimes in tight spots we make no strides at all, because God is carrying us. But, like any good parent, our Father's aim and intent is to return us to our feet, so that we can learn to walk safely beside Him on our own. Children who walk on their own can still hold the father or mother's hand. After all, He said he would uphold us with His righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41 v10) We are learning to walk for ourselves, though not by ourselves. We are learning like Enoch to walk with God. Think about it. Even Jesus had to be raised before he could be raised.
