3-19-2022 Seventh Day BAPTIST Edgewater, FL Pastor Keith “We Are To Testify / Proclaim Jesus” John 1;35-42

In our text today Andrew is bringing his brother Peter to meet Jesus. This is just like when Andrew brought the boy with the little lunch to Jesus. It seems that every time we hear about Andrew, he is bringing someone to meet Jesus. Andrew believed that Jesus was worth meeting because He believed that Jesus was the Messiah.

As Christians we don’t need to fear death. Jesus said He is the resurrection and the life and when we believe in Him we will have life. Jesus said He is the only way to God. It is the responsibility for every Christian to share the gospel. It is more than just inviting people to church. It is inviting them to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Andrew wanted his brother Peter to know Jesus.

Andrew was excited about Jesus. He had heard from John the Baptist that Jesus was the Lamb of God and he had followed Jesus. Andrew brought his brother Peter and other people to Jesus because he was excited. He was excited and said come and see the Messiah!

Andrew was trustworthy. Peter knew his brother and trusted him. Family members know how and what you did as a child. Peter knew that Andrew was dedicated to his beliefs because he was a follower of John the Baptist. When Andrew said come and see Jesus, Peter got up and went.

Andrew brought people to Jesus all the time. Andrew brought the boy with the little lunch and 5,000 people got fed. Bringing people to intimate meetings with Christ can lead to big and great things happening. Andrew brought Peter to Jesus and Peter became a great disciple, apostle and leader for Jesus. Share God’s love wherever you go and be a powerful witness for Christ.

It is the relationship we have with people that will lead them to know Jesus. Jesus went and met people where ever they were at. He healed them, taught them and led them to God. It is not the big church buildings, the big cathedrals that reach people for Jesus; but it is the people reaching out to people. The God and Jesus in us is what we need to use to get people to have a relationship with Jesus. We need to have a relationship with Jesus ourselves and then show the love of God to help us reach people for Jesus.
