“Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” John 21:18 NIV

Herein, Jesus gives Peter a glimpse into what is forthcoming for him in leading the disciples in carrying forth the work of Christ. As Christians, we must remember that we will face persecution. Those with whom we associate may be believers, but the world in general does not believe in, nor accept Christ, and thus they will not accept us who follow Him. The ppersecution we face may not be known to us now, but in it, if we remain obedient, then we give glory to God. Consider this to be a privilege, as our reward awaits us in Heaven.
