The first time I heard God call my name,
I felt the warmth of a summer breeze.
I inhaled His breath, I exhaled it too.
A budding rose, thirsting for rain, was I.

The first time I felt God hold my hand,
I heard Him say, your soul's released.
He said I know you, do you know me too?
My tears then fell, through sheer relief!

The first time I  felt God walked with me,
The road is fraught, but I'm with you.
I recall the look on  His face,
There's no doubt upon His truth.

The first time I  walked away from Him,
I lost the lovelight in His eyes.
Mistakenly, thought to walk alone
Through the lost and desolate times.

The first time God said, Come back to Me,
Each of My friends are well received, 
He held me close, in His warm embrace,
It was then I knew of my belief.
