Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. John 21:10-11 NIV

Although the net which Peter dragged ashore was full of a multitude of fish, the net was not torn. If it had been torn, many of the fish may have been lost.

Jesus wants to provide for each of us a protective net, that hearts which might have been shattered or troubled would not be lost. He wants to provide abundant life for each of us, as He did for His disciples, as He did in the case of these verses. The world works to tear the net provided by the Lord, telling us that what it can provide is what we need. We however know the lies of this world. We choose to follow Jesus, who is the Good Shepherd and who provides for our every need.
