When Jesus Comes Down

Building seems to come naturally.

Using wooden blocks, toddlers stack and build. With short attention spans, they soon knock things down.

When older, children choose LEGOS. They build with hopes of making something to last. Yet, sooner or later in an effort to make living space; temporary buildings are taken down.

Pre-teens use wood to build forts, club houses and tree houses. Building projects are soon neglected and forgotten; parents might tell their children to tear them down.

“A time to break down,
And a time to build up (Ecclesiastes 3:3b NKJV).”

The LORD is building a lasting church body.
Jesus and love are at its foundation.

“but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—  from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love (Ephesians 4:15-16 NKJV).” 

I’m not sure when the time for breaking down will come.

The church body will be changed when Jesus comes down to take us up!

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 NKJV).”
