On a cold winters night pressing deeper,
To Bethlehem toward the Northwest.
In a manger there in a stable,
The child Emmanuel would rest.

Was a night different from others,
Each star shining it’s light.
One star shining much brighter,
Leading wise men on through the night.

The star came to rest at a stable,
It’s light there shown all around.
The wise men entering wondered,
Why this King wore not a crown.

His sacred head lay sleeping,
Cuddled there in his mother’s arms.
The wise men knelt giving praises,
Saw a Savior on Earth had been born.

The wise men chose to not go back,
To tell Herod what they had seen.
They left in a different direction,
Thanking God for this heavenly King.
