THANKSGIVING, ONLY A MOCKERY NOW?

Our HOLY days, once holy, are disappearing?

During Thanksgiving we stuff a turkey, then we stuff ourselves till the cheeks (and other things) bulge out. How does that give thanks? And to whom?

If you really want to thank God, to give something to our loving father, why not give Him something HE can use? Like “DO NOT LIE, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, LOVE YOUR FELLOW MAN LIKE YOURSELF”, and so on?

Also, how about plans to study the Bible regularly? It is Gods light upon our path. We follow traffic laws to survive. Why not follow God’s guidance to survive spiritually? With infinite love God gave us a Savior, to pay our penalty and a Bible, a guide and light on our path! The Bible is a love story; written with blood, upon a wooden cross; the story of God's love for you.

Consider that every law God gives is never for the benefit of God. It is always for the benefit of man and the society of man. We have a colossal treasure, a happiness and, eventually, a life everlasting in our Heavenly Father, who loves us and ransoms us from uttermost destruction.

Something most especial is waiting for those who seek the infinite goodness of our Lord. God Himself said, that "The ear has not heard and no eye has ever seen, neither can man even imagine the HAPPINESS which God prepared for those who love him" (1 Cor. 2:9, paraphrased, if you please)!

This Thanksgiving, do NOT forget our loving Father, who loves you and suffered for you. Give thanks to Him.
