"While the earth remians,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer
Shall not cease" Genesis 8:22. New King James Version. NKJV.

The above words are those of the Creator of Heaven and Earth after He had destroyed what He had created earlier only to save Noa, the righteous and seven other persons who happened to be his immediate family members: his wife and three sons with their wives. In the same vein, He preserved each specie of animals and birds He had destroyed through Noa's ark.

After the flooding was over, He vowed never to destroy the earth with water again, Gen 8:20-21.

For the purpose of this write-up, we are going to examine this part of those words,
"While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,...
Shall not cease." Gen 8:22 a-b, e.

Life of a tree is first contained in the seed of that tree; it is when it is sowned that the journey of growing into a fully grown tree begins. When this tree now grows into its full maturity, many fruits of its kind will now feature on it. Not only this, the fruits will also undergo their time of gestation until they become edible for human consumption or other uses. Meaning that every fruit of a tree will one day attain maturity. After maturity comes harvest.

Do you know what? It is God alone who determines the quality and quantity of any harvest for one single seed sown, in the first harvest year, the yields are (or may) not be as plentiful as in subsequent years, especially where the land is very suitable for the plant. Let me not fail to state here that in a very good land, there can still be increasing or decreasing harvests. This is what happened in the parable of seed sower as contained in the Gospel according to Mathew and Mark.

Mathew renders his account of the yeilds from the good land of the seed sower thus,
"But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundred-fold, some fifty-fold, some thirty." Matt 13:5.

Mark explains it thus,
"But other seed fell on good ground and yyielded a crop that sprang, increases and produced : some tthirty-fold some sixty, and some a hundred" Mark 4:8.

Whether the yields are of the diminishing or increasing returns, one fact is that they are all from a single seed.

Let me state clearly here that as it is with agricultural seeds, so it is with spiritual or life seeds. The most important question now is, "What are you sowing into the life of other people? Be convinced that your seeds will determine your harvests, type, quality and quantity and it is the Lord God that will determine your harvest. All that concerns you is reaping what you have sown; know it fully well that if you sow good, it will come to you in folds that will be determined by your Father in heaven, your Creator. If it is an evil seed or seeds, the harvest is sure to come and you will harvest the same. Therefore watch what you are sowing.

Do not think that after sowing God will forget as man sometimes do; if it looks like there is no consequences of your evil seeds, it means it is growing until its time of harvest. The Gospel according to Mark in chapter 4:26-29 renders the stages involved until maturity thus,
"26... If a man should scatter seed on the ground,
27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.
28 For the earth yeilds crops by itself : First the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.
29 But when grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come " NKJV.

Beloved reader, how will you embrace the yields from your seed of life? Will you lament over those evil seeds you have sown or rejoice over your good harvest? Your seed will determine your harvest, so sow what is good today that you may reap a bountiful harvest of good harvests. Stay blessed and prepared for the impending coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
