All That Belongs

“All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” John 16:15 NIV

Return to the initial chapter of John’s gospel and read verses 2 and 3. This validates Christ’s statement here about all that belongs to the Father is His as well. The Holy Spirit is the gift of the Heavenly Father, that the one who is indwelled with the Spirit can worship God in Truth and in Spirit. The Holy Spirit is sent to the believer through Jesus Christ, to the one who believes in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. His death was endured for our salvation. We are given spiritual life through the indwelling Holy Spirit. Apart from God’s Spirit we are spiritually dead, living enslaved to sin. Live in the Spirit and live in Truth!
