Dear God,

We thank you for the gift of families,

But in so many families around the world,

There lies brokenness and evil,

Where those who are called to love and protect one another,

Cause hurt and pain instead,

So Lord, we pray for your intervention for families experiencing domestic violence,

Please bring healing to the victims from their hurt and trauma,

Grant them your comfort and strength,

And please bless them with the care and support they need at this time,

We pray that you would protect them from any further abuse and violence,

And bring justice to their situation,

We pray for your mercy over those family members responsible for the abuse,

Convict them of the sinfulness of their actions,

Teach them to fear you and to repent of their sins,

And grant them the support they need to change their ways,

Where trust and unity in families have been destroyed,

Please mend the broken bonds and bring reconciliation,

As your church Lord, please empower us to be your agents of love and mercy,

To broken families around us,

Give us the wisdom and discernment,

To know how we can best respond to instances of domestic violence,

Both within the communities around us,

And also among our church members,

Teach us to protect and support the vulnerable and hurt,

While also working towards bringing those who are causing harm to repentance,

Lord God, only you have the power to change broken families,

And we pray that as you continue to work through your church now,

May families who have been shattered by the effects of domestic violence,

Know your love and mercy and find healing.
