And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:9-11 NIV

What a beautiful thought we have here from the apostle Paul, as he writes to believers in Philippi.

These words are just as applicable to us today as they were to the church Paul wrote to 2000 years ago.

We are to live in Christ’s love, letting it abound and grow within us as our relationship with the Lord matures. And what are some of the ways in which the love of Christ within us are exemplified?

We shall grow in knowledge and depth of insight of that which is of God. We will be guided by the Holy Spirit into leading a life becoming of one who follows the Lord. Living in obedience to the Lord, sharing His love through how we speak, and act will help us to grow in purity, and we shall thus be found blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus. Our focus must truly be on letting others see Christ living within us. We no longer live for ourselves, as the old self has died, that we be born again into the Spirit of God.

Christ is ready to work within each of us, that we bear much fruit for the advancement of God’s kingdom. We must remember that what is important is that God’s will be done, and not our will. We have given ourselves to Christ, so let us live according to His will for us. Don’t we know that doing His will shall result in what is best?

We must remember that all we are to do is not of ourselves but comes through directing of the indwelling Holy Spirit. All good that we do comes through Jesus Christ. Everything we do needs to be done to the glory of God. Let us live our lives that when others look at us that which they will see is an outpouring of the glory of God!
