     Recently, I put together a brief list of Christian resources for a young man who was long on desire, on fire for the Lord, but didn't truly have the funds for Bible College or Seminary.  God gave us wisdom and a mind to seek out His will.  I wanted to share this list of goodies with my brothers and sisters in Christ.

INTRODUCTION:

     There are some who are not able to go to a Bible college or Seminary in order to begin what has been called “A decent Christian Education”.  However, IF you have a decent KJV Bible, some pens and pencils, some time and/or computer access, one can put together a solid Christian Education and become an awesome Saint of God.  Lincoln did it…so can you!

 

     Keep in mind that some of the most powerful Christians used by God started off as poor or humble Saints without much in the way of money or books, but who made sure they had a Bible and time to pray.  Prayer STARTS and KEEPS the Saint in the classroom with their Lord. 

 

     Somehow, Saints have fallen into the same trap as the world system; believing that they are next-to-nothing without a degree or letters after their name.  May I remind you that Jesus had NO letters after His name, yet He and his followers—ignorant by the world’s standards—were powerful Saints of God because they stayed close to the Lord, were instant in prayer, and kept in the Word.  Even the Saints with education like Luke, Paul and others had to learn at the feet of the Master.  Again, PRAY!  God will send you the wisdom you will need for any situation.

 

     In closing, let me encourage you.  With the rise of the Internet, you can locate and purchase books, locate and take free KJV Bible Christian courses, and even sit in on workshops and podcasts on a host of teachings available on line.  You can…with some effort…assemble a great Christian education for next to nothing and will have a great time sharing and using what you have obtained.  All it takes is imagination, investment and time.

 

SUGGESTIONS TO PREPARE:

     *Pray!  Seek the Lord’s will for your courses of study, and where he wants you to learn.

 

     *KNOW your KJV Bible!  Before you enter into ANY coursework, bookwork, or on line teaching MAKE SURE you know your Bible!  True Christian Education is merely an extension of what you have covered IN your own Bible.  It has been proven that one who has mastered the KJV can read and comprehend at the 12^th Grade—or beyond—level.  Daily prayer, daily devotions, daily Bible study equals solid Christian growth for the Saint and makes you MORE than a match for learning more.  More light; more growth, more learning!

 

     *Realize that extra study—even extra Christian Education study—is going to take time.  IF you have been out of the academic environment (classroom) for a while, it is going to take a while for you to re-develop your ‘learning chops’.  Be patient with yourself.  An inch of progress a day is still progress.  It’s not about speed; but accuracy with doctrine and the KJV Bible.

 

     *Get good tools.  IF you invest in a library of great, basic Bible study tools…either on line or in person, you will go a lot farther than you would imagine.

 

BASIC TOOLS RECOMMENDED:

     First, here are a few recommended tools.  You can find them either in a bookstore or on line via Amazon, or another electronic book seller.  Half-Priced Books is another great resource.  Google also provides a great search engine for such tools.  Books are great to have, for, IF the tech ‘conks out’, you can merely turn the page and pick up where you left off.

     *Great Doctrines of the Bible by William Evans

 

     *Strong’s Concordance KJV version.

 

     *The Genesis to Revelation Bible Course by William M. Groom.  Either On-line download (google it first) or book purchase through Amazon.com.  Covers entire Bible…KJV!

 

     *Nelson’s Book of Bible Charts and Maps. Thomas Nelson Publishers

 

     *Thompson Chain Reference Bible KJV.  Best for a Christian Education.

 

     *ANY of the Lockyer series “All The…Of The Bible”

 

     *Baker’s Dictionary of Theology. Baker Publishing

 

     *Any of Charles Spurgeon’s Books ESPECIALLY “Lectures for my Students”.

 

     *Between Christ and Satan by Kurt Koch (He also has other books).

     
     *The Interpretation of Bible Prophecy by Dr. Paul Lee Tan

 

ON LINE RESOURCES:

     *ChapelLibrary.org:  Great for free KJV Bible literature, plus free online courses and a vast library of downloadable audio lectures, sermons and teachings.  Great stuff on the Puritans.

 

     *Faithwriters.com:  Has a vast array of Christian writings, Bible studies, book reviews and teachings.  Updated daily.  Hits just about every country around the world.  Free.

 

     *BibleGateway.com:  Has a vast array of bible versions, including KJV.  Very good at looking up verses for particular subjects and bible words.  Free.

 

     *Way Of Life Bible Literature (www.wayoflife.org):  Great website.  Has a great update publication called ‘Friday Church News Notes’ released and updated every week.  David Cloud also has a variety of free, downloadable books and teachings.  Solid.

 

     *The Spurgeon Center (spurgeon.org): Everything Charles Haddon Spurgeon.  They have also recently started publishing (on line) his famous “The Sword and the Trowel” publications.

 

     *Hillsdale College (online.hillsdale.edu) Free courses on line.  You have to buy the textbook in some instances or take great notes as some courses do not have textbooks.

 

     *BibleBaptistPublications.org Great stuff for all levels of Christians.  Costs involved.

 

     *BibleBelievers.com.  Great site for solid resources.  Solid downloads!

 

     *Psycho Heresy Website (pamweb.org). Great resource on issues involving psychology and Christianity.  Even has downloadable books.  Mostly free! You will be blessed by these people!
