I believe that implied in this statement by Christ is not only that He has spoken the word to them, but they have accepted it. It is one thing to hear the word of God, but what good eternally does it do for the individual until it is accepted in their heart?
Yes, there will be times when we choose not to obey the word, but what happens in our heart after so doing? Is there remorse and the need to feel forgiven and reconciled to the Lord? Do not be afraid to get up after you have fallen and return to the Lord. Christ always welcomes a humble and sincere heart.
