And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13-14 NIV

What message of truth have you heard from this world? Go ahead and tell me. This world cannot speak of truth for it knows not the truth. This world teaches to take care of me, myself and I and to find worth in what we can accumulate, passing on to future generations after our passing. Now honestly, is that all you think life was meant to be? Our Creator has something different in mind for us.

If you have opened your heart, and were introduced to the truth, and if you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, then you have been chosen and you belong to Him. The word gospel in the Old English literally translates as “good news”. Let me tell you that the gospel is most assuredly good news, for it shows that through belief in Jesus Christ one receives salvation, forgiveness of one’s sins and the imprisonment to the slavery of sin. Until one is saved, they truly are not set free. They don’t know it, but they are enslaved to their sinful nature.

How does one know if they have been saved? Do you have God’s seal upon you, the gift of the Holy Spirit provided to those who believe? Living a life following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ cannot be done of our own will. We need God dwelling within us to overcome the desires of the flesh and to protect us from the fiery darts the enemy slings at us. Yes, at times we will stumble and fall. Turning to Christ and asking for forgiveness we are then directed back on to the path which leads to righteousness through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is also our guarantee of our eternal inheritance in Christ. This shall come to us after all who are purposed receive the redemptive salvation of Jesus Christ. When we all receive our eternal inheritance, we shall then together, united, worship and praise the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, giving praise to Them and glorifying Their name.
