Sabbath 4/3/2021 Seventh Day BAPTIST Edgewater Pastor Keith “Resurrection Sabbath” I Thess 4:16-17, John 5:24, I Cor 15:16, Job 19:26, Hosea 13:14. John 6:40, Matt 16:21, John 3:16, Revelation 1:5

The Bible tells us that we don’t have to be afraid of the shadow of death. We don’t have to be afraid of darkness. The Old Testament tell us this and the New Testament tell us this also. Jesus gave us Eternal Life. We will be raised up at the last day. We shall not perish but have everlasting life. Revelation 1:5 says that Jesus Christ is the first born from the dead. He was the first to conquer death and this is why we believe in our own resurrection.

There was an empty tomb where Jesus’s body had laid. On the third day He was raised to life. Jesus had talked about His resurrection so much that the Jewish leaders went to Pilate to have roman guards placed at Jesus’s tomb. They were scared someone would steal His body. But even roman soldiers could not stop God from raising Jesus up from the dead. The critics could not present the body of Jesus because He had rose from the dead and Jesus is still alive today.

***Three Reasons To Believe In The Resurrection:

1)     There was an empty tomb.

2)     There were witnesses to Jesus being alive again. He was seen by the Apostles, by Paul and by 500 witnesses.

3)     The Lord’s Supper is where Jesus said He was the lamb to be slain for the sins of the world. Jesus said His blood was for the New Covenant between God and mankind. Just like as the lamb at Passover was killed and its blood had saved the Israelites from death; Jesus was our lamb to be slain so by His blood we can be saved from death. Thank you Jesus!!!

AMEN
