Pesach (Passover) March 27th, 2021
Date Of Moed: 14th Day of 1st Month (Nisan)
The Biblical date for Pesach 2021 is Saturday, March 27th in the Hebrew Year 5781.
The full Pesach week begins at sunset Friday, March 26th and ends at sunset Saturday, April 3rd.
Note However: Many will begin the Pesach week on Sunday, March 28th, on Nisan 15th.

Chag Ha’Matzoh (Unleavened Bread) March 28th to April 3rd, 2021
Date Of Moed: 15th Day of 1st Month (Nisan)
The Biblical dates for Chag Ha’Matzoh 2021 are March 28th thru April 3rd, in the Hebrew Year 5781.
Chag Ha’Matzoh begins at sunset Saturday, March 27th and ends at sunset Saturday, April 3rd.
Note However: Many will celebrate Chag Ha’Matzoh also on Sunday, March 28th, on Nisan 15th.

Reishit Katzir (First Fruits) April 3rd, 2021
Date Of Moed: Sabbath after Passover (which fell on the third day after Yeshua’s crucifixion).
The Biblical date for Reishit Katzir 2021 is Saturday, April 3rd, in the Hebrew Year 5781.
Reishit Katzir begins at sunset Friday, April 2nd and ends at sunset Saturday, April 3rd.
Note However: Many will celebrate Reishit Katzir on Monday, March 29th, on Nisan 16th.

The festival of Pesach includes the day of Pesach (Passover) on March 27th, Chag Ha’Matzoh (Unleavened Bread) on March 28th, and Reishit Katzir (Firstfruits) on the first Sabbath after Pesach, which Biblically falls on April 3rd, in the Hebrew Year 5781. Many, however, will celebrate Reishit Katzir on Monday, March 29th.

The first Pesach was held in Egypt when the Hebrew slaves put blood on the lintels and posts of the doors to their homes and the Angel of Death passed-over them. It has been celebrated by Jews and Gentiles for over three thousand years.

Most famously, the festival is noted for its lack of leaven (hametz) and the Seder Meal which is eaten while the story of the first exodus is recounted. Each year those celebrating the feast will scour their homes for every last trace of leaven, and remove all of it from the home. On Pesach eve, the Seder Meal is served and includes a shank of lamb, bitter herbs, matzo, and the Afikoman, plus much more. If you have not yet been to a Seder, by all means find one to attend.
