Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 NIV

One definition of the word pure is free of any contamination. The human flesh is contaminated. This world teaches to seek for self. Me first. How can a heart possibly be pure with it constantly fed this garbage by the world? Of our will and doing we can not truly have a pure heart. Oh yes, our heart might be kind and gentle, we may find it in our heart to help others, but in no way can our heart be pure of our own doing. There is only one who can give us a pure heart, and that is God. It must be created within us. Would you truly like a pure heart? It can be had, but only through your creator. You must humbly and sincerely approach Him and ask for a pure heart. He would be very pleased to provide you with a pure heart, a heart dedicated to serving Him, a heart that has a throne on which only He, your creator sits.

Can you find anything which is both good and steadfast of this world? Ok, tell me what it is? I am still waiting. How would you like to have a steadfast spirit, the Spirit of God, living within you, guiding your ways and your actions that they be pleasing to the Lord? If you are a believer, you don’t want the Holy Spirit coming and going. You want the Holy Spirit ever dwelling within you. There is so much evil to fight in this world and we must be attired in the armor of God. We must have the Holy Spirit ever present and active within us. With the Holy Spirit as your advocate, you need not fear the fiery darts of evil. They cannot stand against the Holy Spirit within you.

Yes, dear God provide within each of us, Your chosen children, a heart that is pure and provide us with a steadfast spirit, the Holy Spirit!
