Have you ever wondered why there are times when God makes us wait before He answers our prayer? If you are like me, of course you have had these times.

Patience is a virtue. It helps us to grow.

Have you paid attention to yourself whenever you are impatient? Do you get irritable and nervous? Do you sometimes become short-tempered? Growing impatient can be bad on one’s health.

God wants us to be patient. When we show patience when we take our desires and requests to God, it allows us to grow in Him, for our relationship to mature. Have you ever taken a journey to a destination and decided you wanted to focus on your environment as you traveled the route to the destination point? Did you enjoy the beauty of the scenery as you moved along the traveled path?

When we are impatient as we wait for something to hopefully come to fruition, elapsed time seems to be an eternity. If we choose to be patient, the importance and impact of the time factor seems to become less of an issue. We can then focus on the process of gain in our life as we wait.

Why not enjoy the beauty of your relationship with God as you travel the path which leads to the desires of your heart? There is so much beauty, showing many treasures to be had in one’s growth with the Lord. Know that God has not forgotten your requests, the desires of your heart.

The wisdom one gains in learning to be patient while waiting on the Lord can then be applied to our way of living out our lives. Impatience can become a thing of the past.

God is pleased with the one who is patient with Him. Remember God is patient with you. If He were not so you would have ceased to exist long ago. Being patient tells God that you trust Him and know that all good will come in His time.

Be patient before the Lord. He truly will turn to you and your cry will be heard by Him!
