Send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your holy mountain, and to the place where You dwell. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my greatest joy. I will praise You with the harp, O God, my God. Psalm 43:3-4 (BSB)

I really like the way this scripture begins. We must depend upon the light and truth of the Lord provided through the Holy Spirit to guide us. Those who do not believe, although they may walk in the light of the sun, they walk in spiritual darkness, blind to the Truth, living a life enslaved to sin. How can we be led to God if we choose to continue to live in sin? The answer is we cannot. The world is full of evil. It lurks at every corner. Those who do not believe are living in the midst of it. They really are enslaved to it.

If we are led by the Light and the Truth, then we shall be led to the holy mountain of God. This is not a place that can be located upon an earthly map. Is the holy mountain of God the throne to your heart? God wants to be at the center of your heart. He wants to sit on the throne. If He is there, then you have the guiding light and the Truth which shall set you free.

Is the altar of the Lord God within your heart? I pray so. Is God your greatest joy? Many things can make us joy filled, but nothing can compare to the true joy felt when one’s greatest joy is in God. It is difficult for one who knows this to be able to explain it. It is something which must be felt to be known. Words can not explain that which is the presence of God.

And what about praising God with the harp? I am not a musician and have never played a musical instrument. You may be the same as me on this. Guess what? It does not matter. Why? Because you have a harp within you that can play music to God greater than that of the greatest worldly harpist. You have a harp within your heart that is just waiting to play a beautiful song of praise and worship to the God of glory. It can play music which is so wonderful to the ear of God. He yearns to hear this music, the music which lies deep within your heart and soul. Play that music joyfully before Him. Play a song of worship and adoration before the Lord. You know what is going to happen then? You are going to be in the presence of God and feel the greatest of joys, joy which this world cannot provide for you. So, I challenge you. Pick up that harp inside of you and play a song before God!
