David was a man after God's own heart and served God's purpose in his own generation.

There is a wildness about the heart of God, that though it can be explored (and thank God for that!) cannot ever be captured or tamed. It has not only gone untamed till now, it is untameable. It is like an endless expanse of rugged wilderness that can be cultivated perhaps, but only a little at a time, inch by inch.
