It seems like time is moving too fast
Everything changes from day to day
When you kneel on your knees to pray to God
What would be the first thing you say?

Are you thanking him for all of your blessings
Or is there something you want him to do
Are you always giving him your Christmas list
Of everything you want for you.

Why complain that your house is too old
Be grateful you have a place to stay
You really don’t know how good you have it
Until those things are taken away.

Thank God for all the things you have
And appreciate the here and now
All that you have is by the grace of God
Give as much thanks as the time will allow

Don’t live in a world of self-pity
There are many who are living with less
Smile every morning when you open your eyes
Be thankful and know that you’re blessed.

You have a lot in this world to be thankful for
The best time of your life is today
God has blessed you in many ways
Be sure to thank God when you pray.
