Peaceful Today?

Being at peace has absolutely nothing to do with where we are.
It is an inward state of our mind, our soul, and our spirit, irrespective of anything exterior.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”  Numbers 6:24-26.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27.

Precious. It is the peace that God gives. Peace is the gift of Jesus.
Jesus tells us that it is HIS peace. It has nothing to do with where we are, what we are doing, or what we are anticipating.
It is an inward peace, totally regardless of anything exterior. The heavenly peace of Jesus. Hallelujah!

Back in the 19th century, E.H. Bickersteth put it like this:
Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.
