Prayer For Imprisoned Christians

Lord God,

We remember the many brothers and sisters around the world,

Who are currently living behind bars for their faith,

They have been accused as criminals and locked away,

Because they refuse to deny our Lord Jesus,

As we think of the horrible conditions in which they are now living in,

And the isolation that they are experiencing,

As they remain separated from church, family and friends,

We entrust them into your loving hands,

We pray that you would intervene in their current situations,

And bring justice where it has been withheld,

Please provide a way that these brothers and sisters would be acquitted of all wrongdoing,

And that they would be released and return home safely soon,

But while they remain imprisoned, please guard them against evil,

Keep them safe from those who would want to cause them further harm,

Strengthen them to remain firm in their faith in you,

And comfort them during all of their hardships,

Please remove any bitterness or hatred in their hearts towards their persecutors,

And teach them to respond to the hatred of others with love and mercy,

We pray that you would also watch over and protect their families on the outside,

And continue to provide for all of their needs,

During their imprisonment, please provide these believers with access to your Word,

And remind them of comforting Bible passages that will sustain them,

Please also provide them with opportunities to connect with other imprisoned believers,

And to keep receiving support and encouragement from their local church,

We pray that they would not lose heart during their time of trial,

But that they would be encouraged to keep drawing closer to you,

May they find the grace in you to keep persevering each day,

And may they grow ever stronger in their faith in you through their suffering,

Please continue to spread the gospel through these brothers and sisters,

And provide them with opportunities to keep proclaiming Jesus during their imprisonment,

We pray that their testimony would not be in vain, but that you would use their witness,

To strengthen others believers to also endure persecution for the sake of Christ.
