While he sojourned here on earth 🌎 Jesus the Christ was undoubtedly known as a cheerful soul, one who often smiled and laughed with a gleam in his eyes. Yet, as Isaiah prophesied, he was also a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. After all, he went to a Roman cross for our sake. Like the psamist David he gave expression to the whole gamut of human emotion over the course of his day and his lifetime. Indeed he was as fully human as he was fully divine. We so often think of him as stern or intense, but there was a gaiety as well in the best sense. There was complexity and mystery in his personality which helped to make him so beautiful, yea, the most beautiful person that ever lived.
