Lord God,

I thank you that you love your church,

And that nothing can stand against the plans that you have for your people,

As you continue to build up your church all around the world,

Please raise up a new generation of gospel ministers to lead your church,

Who will faithfully shepherd the flock you have put under their care,

Please raise up leaders who will not compromise with the values of the world,

But who will remain as firm defenders of the truth of your Word,

Grant them the strength to stand firm against false teachers,

And help them to be prepared to suffer for the sake of the gospel,

Please raise up leaders who will be committed disciple-makers,

Who will equip your people to serve and disciple others,

And who will be faithful teachers of your Word,

As they seek to help others follow you,

Please raise up leaders who will love your people dearly,

And who will share your compassion for each individual under their care,

Grant them wisdom and strength as they pastorally care for those in need,

And walk alongside others in the joys and sorrows of daily life,

Please raise up leaders who will be committed to personal holiness and spiritual growth,

And who will faithfully live by the teachings that they proclaim to others,

Help them to guard against temptation and the traps they may face in ministry,

And lead them to know your grace and mercy in their lives more and more,

I pray that through raising up these leaders,

May your church continue to shine as a light in the world for future generations,

And grow ever stronger,

Until the day when Christ will return.
