Be gracious unto me, O God,
For mankind has trampled on me;
Torments me calling You a fraud,
Constant attacks cannot break free.

My enemies swallow me up,
Taking pride in attacking me;
They will put poison in my cup,
Causing blindness so I not see.

Anytime that I am afraid,
I will put my trust into you;
For you will come and render aid,
Since I know that Your Word is true.

In God, whose Word I am praising,
Avoiding fear in God I trust;
Because You are so amazing.
Keeping me from the fleshy lust.

All day long they injure my cause,
Every day they wrest Your Word;
Their evil thoughts are filled with flaws,
So blasphemous what I have heard.

They lurk and are stirring up strife,
Follow by watching where I tread;
As they have waited for my life,
Grab my soul after I am dead.

Will they escape committing crime,
Will Your wrath cast down upon them;
Serve justice for their evil time,
Judged to eternally condemn.

You have kept count my wanderings,
Putting my tears in Your bottle;
Scores of ungodly gatherings,
Iniquities that did mottle.

Then my foes turn back in that day,
When I call upon You in prayer;
To steer me right as not to stray,
It shows how much you really care.

You delivered my soul from death,
The reason why I put my trust;
The light of life giving new breath,
Why following You is a must.
