STRONG FAITH

We never really know how strong our Faith is until it is tested.  We can talk about our Faith by quoting Scriptures and high-lighting past achievements, but that does not define the current strength of our Faith.  To recall our past actions as evidence of our Faith, and to exhibit our Faith today is two different things.  Much of our past Faith is the spring-board to increased Faith, but does not necessarily define our Faith today.  The recall of yesterday’s Faith is full of experiences that produced victories as well as near defeats.  There were lessons learned as well as praises offered.  What we learned from our past experiences should influence our “growth hormone,” but sadly, that is not always the case.

The best way to gauge our Faith is not to define it by the past, but how we are handling  circumstances today.  Faith is not measured by our five senses, but by the reality of what is not seen.  Many Believers respond to the trials of life by addressing them with carnal reasoning sprinkled with Scriptures.  As a result of this tactic, many battles go on much longer than they should.  Faith is not to be used as a life-preserver, but as a vehicle that carries us through, over, and around the challenges.  Faith sees it done, while weak faith hopes to sustain on the battlefields of life.  Faith grows proportionally to the intensity of the pressure that is placed on the Believer.  How we respond to the trials and the testing of our Faith will determine the strength of our Faith. 

When we display doubt, fear, worry, anxiety, apprehension, anger, frustration, depression, hopelessness, and uncertainty, our Faith needs to be placed in the spiritual garage waiting to be worked on.  During these challenging times, we need a Faith that is built upon the Triune God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), not upon the triune man (me, myself and I).  Let us open our Bibles and build-up our Faith.  Let us leave “sight” faith and build upon the ever-present Word of God.  We hear about body-builders and the attention they give to sculpting their bodies.  Let us give our attention to “spirit building” where we develop ourselves into a Christ-like individual!  How strong our Faith is depends on how much attention we have given to walking by Faith and not by sight!
