What would Christmas’ be without music?

Many adults remember being a part of their church Christmas nativity programs. Last minute stitching of bed sheet costumes by moms preceded shaping of wire clothes hangers into halos.

Excited and yet afraid, they put on handmade costumes before family and friends arrived. Voices quivering, they recited scripture and timidly sang. Families and friends visualized far away hills of Bethlehem.

The most moving Christmas selections are frequently performed by untrained voices. Fearful youngsters may forget the lyrics or sing off key. Yet, they proclaim the timeless message of the Messiah’s birth.

The bigger the church, the larger the choir of angels…

In Bethlehem, angels proclaimed the message of Jesus’ birth. Yes, but did they sing?

Sing? Maybe.

Praise God? Definitely!

“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men (Luke 2:13-14 KJV).”
