The Darkest nights

The shortest days

The deepest whys

The longest waits


The anger that you didn’t know was there

The strengh of hate you haven’t faced all year

The disappointments the questions and the tears

The wait of winter is more than you can bear

 

The harshest winds

The sharpest frosts

The bitterness

The senseless loss

 

The death of every single strand of hope

The running through the darkness as you grope

The bashing the falling the constant selfish mope

The resignation of letting go every safety rope

 

The wait of winter

The weight of winter

The wait of winter

The weight of winter

 

Crushing

Squeezing

Killing

Freezing

Death comes with ice

Life comes with sun


Expanding

Embracing

Regenerating

Feeling

The way of Love

The weigh of Love

The way of Love

The weigh of Love

 

The birth of every single strand of faith

The running with the sunshine on your face

The leaping the shouting the constant shine of grace

The realization God’s love is in this place

 

The softest wind

The warming glow

The forgiveness

The sense growth

 

The acceptance you didn’t know was there

The strengh of love you haven’t faced all year

The peace the quiet and the joyful tears

The way of Love is more than you can bear

 

The restful nights

The hopeful days

No questions why

Trusting His way

Beautiful poem which moves us from the dark of winter seasons into hope and healing as we release the "weight of winter " I especially liked the variance of line lengths and use of homonyms like weight/wait and way/way.

From confusion and death and despair to light, hope and comfort. Good tension...good deliverance as goal...I liked it.
