Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” John 10:31-32 NIV

Again, those present planned to stone Jesus. They just could not take what they were hearing and accept it. Jesus is telling them that they would not be able to see the types of deeds He had performed unless He had been sent by God. But they just could not accept that He was God in human flesh. Their Messiah would be an earthly king who would restore the promise made to Israel. It did not matter what He did. They already had their preconceived idea of what the Messiah would be like. Little did they realize that it was not what God the Father had in mind. They did not understand of the need for salvation.
