Who Is The Door Keeper?

"To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.” John 10:3 NAS

First off, who is the door keeper? There does not seem to be an agreement amongst the many who have studied as to who is the door keeper. The response which seems likely to me is that the door keeper is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit brings to the mind of the believer the teachings of Christ, and thus helps to open the heart and soul of the one indwelled to Christ’s teachings and ways.

Christ leads His sheep out of their collective place of gathering in order to go out into the world and share the Good News. Just as the shepherd leads the sheep, Christ leads us as we share His word with others through the indwelling Holy Spirit. Let the door keeper allow the Good Shepherd to enter through the door to your heart and soul.
