FACING THE CHAOS

For months our country has faced an attempted cultural and moral makeover.  Foundational truths, from which this country made its world impact, have become the birthing center of a “new country order.”  To make room for this movement, previous beliefs are being voided.  History is being expunged.  New academic agendas are being taught from the earliest level of learning to the leading universities.  Nothing is off the table when it comes to establishing a new nation “under man.”  Many Christians look at what is happening as a sign of the last days.  They are looking up expecting Jesus’ return to not only “rapture” His children away, but to usher in the wrath of God.  After careful study of the Scriptures, one will readily see what is happening today is pale in comparison to the Godly judgment that will be released at the end of the age.  To counter this epidemic of progressive change, Believers are “dressing” down their behavior to match the emotions of the worldly.  Whenever Christians step outside the binding of God’s sixty-six volume classic, they will base their thoughts and opinions on non-Biblical sources.  Whenever one neglects the written Word, he will be vulnerable to the sway of public opinion.  Many people are influenced by conservative and liberal media.  Just because it is in print does not make it true, with the exception of God’s Word!

Sadly many Christians are “sold” on expanding the negatives instead of being “bold” to proclaim that God is God.  It is not what our eyes see, but what our Faith visualizes.  May we move from the “tube” to the Book.  Instead of talking about how bad things are, let us talk about how good God is!   

There are many antidotes to the Christian life.  Worry negates hope.  Fear minimizes faith.  Sadness cancels joy.  Anxiety nullifies peace.  Confusion reduces stability.  Negatives reduce positives.  When these antidotes are released, the body reacts negatively.  Headaches, elevated blood pressure, sleeplessness as well as other physical abnormalities develop. 

What it all comes down to is do we truly trust Him?  Do we truly love Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength? (Mark 12:29)  If we do, let us leave the “observation deck” that overlooks the chaos in our country and run the race that is set before us! 

Let every follower of Jesus release his faith to wholly trust in the “Captain of their salvation.” (Hebrews 2:11)  Let every Saint set his “affection on things above, not on the things of the earth.” (Colossians 3:2)  Let every Believer lift up his hands and voice in praise and adoration for Jesus is still Lord!  Let every Christian rest in the assurance that God is still in control!
