To attain the more we must hold true and fast to what we have already attained. By living up to the light we have already been granted we can reasonably expect to be entrusted with more.
May our memories of the past be such that they help to propel us forward into the wonders prepared for our  future and not drag us back into the past with its shadows that can haunt.
To win the prize reserved for us, and to which God has called us,  will require a certain perspective, or way of looking at life in general and our own individual lives in particular. It applies to expanse of geography and to the flow of history. It sees the whole earth from heaven's view and ages of time. It is like looking through a wide scope which sees not only life but death in a true light. But it is not wide In the sense that it can't narrow down on an objective. In fact the word Paul used for mark or goal in stretching toward the goal was the Greek word from which we get the word "scope." This perspective includes things that we can at present only barely touch but not grasp ahold of yet.
What or who are willing to die for if that becomes necessary?
And, after all, it is the callous fool who says or thinks of death (even if unconsciously) "Oh, death, yes, it happens all the time, but never to me or mine, so why should I care?"
