500.
More than 500 actually. Since June.
More than 500 Christians systematically killed by Muslim extremists in Ethiopia since June. Door-to-door killings. Pregnant women and children, too. The systematic killing so bad, the Ethiopian Tewahedo Orthodox Church called on the government of Ethiopia to intervene.
Oh, wait. That’s Ethiopia. The world revolves around the United States.
Well, of course it does to everyday Americans and our mainstream media, none of which reported on the systematic killing of Christians in this far away land. But you would think American Christians would not only have a clue but show some solidarity, concern and tell the flock over here to keep their brothers and sisters over there in prayer.
Crickets.
Shouldn’t the systematic killing of our brothers and sisters in Christ break our hearts and cause us to reflect on our lives, be eternally grateful to live in the United States, and maybe get the prayer warriors together?
I guess not.
Instead “Christians” living in the USA get caught up in the satanic bandwagon perpetuated by the mainstream media and other loud and possessed vocalists who push a false narrative about the supposed systematic racism still enveloping the United States despite clear and present statistics that prove otherwise along with decades of reform and attitude changes.
The band Switchfoot has pushed and promoted the idea of the United States being a racist country ever since a black man, George Floyd, overdosed on drugs while a white police officer dug his knee into the dying man’s neck. An appalling scene no doubt, with the officer expressing this near poo-eating grin, but no indication racism played a factor.
On the day police officers were mostly acquitted of charges for the death of Breonna Taylor, Switchfoot said, “Our hearts are heavy today, for Breonna Taylor, for George Floyd, for all of our black and brown brothers and sisters whose lives have been taken so brutally.” Then they played a song.
How sweet.
I can spend another 300 or so words and dissect each one of these cases for you but the truth is out there.
Switchfoot got their fame and glory as rock stars on the back of Christians who, for whatever reason, thought this band was a Christian band. Or at least a rock band consisting of Christians. I’ve attended their concerts. The audience basically consists of a bunch of kids escorted by overly protective moms and dads. And you know what? I’ve never heard any of the members of Switchfoot say they are Christian and if you’ve ever attended a concert or listened to their music nothing indicates they have any more faith in Jesus Christ than those who make up secular bands.
Contrast this with Dave Mustaine, singer of heavy metal band Megadeth, and rocker Alice Cooper, both who publicly acknowledge their Christian faith unlike the five who make up Switchfoot or even the two brothers, Jon and Tim Foreman, whose father is a pastor. You’d think Switchfoot with their social media platform and supposed Christian faith would bring to light what’s happening to their brothers and sisters in Christ on the other side of the world. Instead they jump on a media fueled bandwagon that so wants to divide America and start a hot Civil War.
Revelation 3:16 comes to mind when I think of Switchfoot.
OK, who cares about Switchfoot? Well, I don’t anymore so what about the American churches?
I used to attend this large church, a conglomerate really of three churches as my now-former church, I attended for 10 years, embraced a dying church in a nearby city some time ago then joined forces with a third church to form this empire of sorts.
On June 3, they sent an email to the congregation. It was more of a thesis paper. On race. The church even created a /racism page on their website. America was racist according to my Christian church. Well, this was the BLM brick that broke the camel’s back for me. My wife and I left. But before this, the church and several pastors were virtue signaling in the weeks even months prior to the mass riots that have resulted in millions of dollars in property damage and a number of deaths and other human casualties. In fact, one of the pastors displayed a photo and pointed out his black football coach in a sermon, for no other reason that I could tell, than to say he knew a black man at some point in his life. I. Kid. You. Not.
Another church, I attended years ago, also created a /racism page.
And yet another, thanks to the coronavirus lockdowns that I began watching the online sermons, hit me with more virtue signaling of how racist America remains. Despite all the facts, statistics and evidence to the contrary.
500.
More than five hundred Christians slaughtered in 2020 for their faith in Jesus Christ and the supposed christians (small c intentional) in America remain completely mum.
When I don’t know what to say, I write.

Not sure why you singled out Switchfoot - maybe a personal connection to the story?
Not everyone remains silent though. My family for one.
Good luck publishing this - good stuff for people to hear.
