AMERICA'S ANONYMOUS WAY

PROLOGUE

Are we now living in an anonymous world? Has America turned into a faceless gossip-monger of information? Pick up a newspaper, tune in talk radio or television news and what do you hear?  Breaking news bulletins given by an anonymous source.

What is the goal of these anonymous people having no outstanding, individual, or unusual features? It’s simply a way out, a way of getting untruths out into the general public without being held accountable. Enough speculation, you get the picture.  

So, why would American’s mainstream populace even pay attention to such nonsense anyway? Well, some do, some don’t.

Could it be that the information given is in line with some thinker’s willingness to make the information known for a particular reason? Enter today’s party-political world.

For whatever reason, this anonymous information will surely cover up and not be influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts. In other words, they, whomever they are, can legally and officially tell whatever lie they want and not be known or be held accountable.  

So, where will all these untruths end up? What will they achieve? Who will they destroy? Only time will tell.

In this neat fiction blog, entitled “America’s Anonymous Way” we see a true American patriot who apparently has let this anonymous syndrome affect the reality of his life style, only to be rescued by the most unlikely subject. 

So, sit back and enjoy this modern-day parable, an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. Can you understand his feelings?

“You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness. You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, nor shall you bearwitness in a lawsuit, siding with the many, so as to pervert justice, nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his lawsuit.” (Exodus 23:1-3)

It started at our breakfast table. The wife and I were enjoying our usual breakfast routine of calorie-free cereal and a cup of fresh decaf Joe when it happened. Mysteriously, the small TV in the kitchen started blaring out a deafeningly loud breaking news flash from an anonymous source. Instantly it contributed to my much on-going political breakdown.

“Why they tend to label these breaking news flashes as anonymous is beyond me. Seems if it is so important to interrupt the regular scheduled programming, it should be important enough to give credit to its sources,” I complained loudly.

“I don’t know, Dear,” she said, “now come eat your cereal before it gets cold.”

"How can they get by with saying the news is from an anonymous source? They don’t detail the source at all. And why do so many of our good friends seem to believe all this mess? Why can’t they just leave America alone? Why do they insist on destroying the greatest nation on this, God’s green earth?" I ranted on. 

“I don’t know, Dear, finish your cereal. it’s getting late and we need to go shopping. Our American Flag is getting a little worn, out there in the wind. We need to replace it. And please be careful jerking the television around so,” she remonstrated.

“OK, Love, I’ve calmed down now. Maybe I’ll just satisfy myself by checking it all out on the web.  I’ll be ready in a bit,” I said.

That’s how it all got started, this fine fall day in America The Beautiful. But the day was a long way from ending. I must have taken a little snooze, while waiting for the wife to get ready for shopping, and I had a vision. “Where do I start?" I wondered.

“How about at the beginning?” replied a still small voice in my mind.

So, I will, it’s from the very start, whatever the purpose or meaning.

I found myself suddenly transported into a big, urban city. There in the midst of this city was a large gold-domed sanctuary. My mind suddenly became focused on a large ancient limestone wall in the older part of the city.

Many people were standing in front of the wall, people of all ages. All had the same purpose of worship and prayer. Many were holding prayer books or Bibles and stuffing pieces of paper between the cracks of this great wall.

That’s when my vision became even more realistic and exciting. One of the gentleman, who appeared to be a religious elder, broke from the crowd and came over to me. He was well dressed all in black, wearing a kippah with side curls protruding out. He was also draped with a prayer shawl and carrying a big black Bible.

He then spoke in heavily-accented English, “I’m glad you’re here, my son, I’ve been waiting for you. I know you’re all stressed out over your country's pending election. I’m also aware of your country’s news media attempting to influence the election. Don’t worry, my son, nothing takes our heavenly Father by surprise. He will place whom He wills in authority over your country."

Leafing through his Bible he began reading (Daniel 2:19-23).  Then he pulled a piece of paper from the wall and began reading its introductory Scripture out loud for all around to hear. (II Timothy 1:7) After which he handed me the paper note, for my keeping. It had very precise detailed instructions for me to follow. It was as if the note had been divinely presented to me, as he put it.

It read, 'Do not read a newspaper, listen to talk radio, or watch television news until after your November 3^rd national election. Instead, you are to read the entire book of Proverbs in the Bible, up until this election date. You are to read one of the 31 chapters each day, making notes on how the particular chapters have helped you get over this election process. And each day of the reading you are to pray specifically for America’s spiritual rebirth.'

Turning around to thank him for these divinely given instructions, he was gone. There, lying on the ground was his prayer cloth. He had left it for some reason. As I picked it up and put it around my shoulder, everything mysteriously changed. I found myself back at home. 

My vision had ended as well. Waking up, I found myself sitting in my man cave recliner. My open Bible on my side table had a certain Bible passage highlighted. (Hebrews 13:1-2) Oh, I get it now.

"Wife, wife," I called, "are you ready to go shopping? Please speak up. Have I got a tale to tell you as we travel to the store? I’ve been set free. Free from all the ungodly politics and the anonymous news stories.  I will no longer gripe or grumble. It will all work out."

“What will work out, my Dear?” she asked.

“You’ll see, my love," I replied. "Let me just say this, nothing takes our living Creator by surprise, not even the anonymous news bulletins." Amen!    

EPILOGUE

I trust you enjoyed this little fiction parable, as much as I did in its writing. From the very start, I laid out the story, whatever the purpose or meaning. Yes, the anonymous protocol etiquette seems to be alive and well in today’s America. Why and what’s it all about?

According to the internet Wikipedia, “The use of anonymous sources encourages some sources to divulge information which it is illegal for them to divulge, such as the details of a legal settlement, grand jury testimony, or classified information. This information is illegal to disclose for reasons such as national security, protecting witnesses, preventing slander and libel, and ending lawsuits without lengthy, expensive trials and encouraging people to disclose such information defeats the purpose of the disclosure being illegal. In some cases, a reporter may encourage a source to disclose classified information, resulting in accusations of espionage."

So, the purpose of this much needed blog is understandably clear. America now stands at an existential threshold. A decision must and will be made in this upcoming national election. Will America stand or fall? Will America continue to move forward according to the dictates of the holy Scripture? Will America fall, and fall hard on the ungodly dictates of this world’s evil intentions? Will the anonymous dictates encourage or discourage, the populist?      

You see, it's not politics, although politics does enter into the equation. From the very beginning of civilization, mankind has been burdened with the original sin of mankind. (Genesis 3:1-7) The results of this inherited sin have now progressed down through the ages, into the Twenty-First century.  

We are in a war of many unseen ongoing battles. (Ephesians 6:11-12) Dr. Charles Ryrie puts it this way,” The believer’s enemies are the demonic hosts of Satan always assembled for mortal combat.”

So, I leave you with this final thought. Although those who control the news media may think they are pulling the wool over American’s eyes, with this anonymous mindset, absolutely nothing takes our all-knowing, all-powerful Creator God by surprise. (Isaiah 42:9) Rest assured He will act accordingly to affect His divine will. (Jeremiah 29:11) Amen!
