A living stone rejected,
A living stone disallowed;
By men who disrespected,
Being immorally proud.

Chosen in the sight of God,
To the Father was precious;
Completely perfect unflawed,
And spiritually zealous.

You are too like living stones,
As a spiritual house built;
That is structured like your bones,
While being free from guilt.

You are a holy priesthood,
Offer sacrifice to God;
Acceptable as it stood,
Giving Him honor and laud.

God laid a stone for Zion,
Who believes will not feel shame;
Where the lamb and the lion,
Lay together to proclaim.

Honor is for to believe,
And never try to reject;
For salvation you receive,
For being as His elect.

It is a stone for stumbling,
A rock that some take offense;
Having contempt and grumbling,
And not showing common sense.

A chosen generation,
And in a royal priesthood;
Part of a holy nation,
Doing His way as you should.

From the darkness you were called,
Into His marvelous light;
Cleansing you where you were flawed,
As a blessing in His sight.

Once you were not now you are,
Once no mercy in this place;
But now as a shining star,
Because of mercy and grace.
