There Is Hope For The Lonely and Depressed In This Time of Uncertainty

If one life can be saved by reading this article, I hope and pray it might be yours. The lockdown has resulted in loneliness and depression. The latest poll has revealed that one in ten people have considered suicide. Hopefully you are not one of them, but if you are, you need to read this article.

     Have you become dependent upon entertainment, busyness, success, and prosperity for your “happiness?” All of these things do not answer the questions of who you really are and why you exist. Are you lonely and depressed because you have become accustomed to going everywhere and doing many things? Now that much of this has been taken from you are you finding it difficult to cope with life itself?

     I have some very good news for you! This may be your opportunity to see your life take on new meaning. Your happiness and emotional condition does not have to be determined by the fear and uncertainty that many are experiencing.

     You have to be willing, however, to give a God a try. What do have to lose at this low point of your life? No, I am not talking about religion. I am talking about believing that there is a God who created you as a unique individual, and who knew you before you were even formed in the womb. Not only did He create you with a purpose, but he loves you, my friend, and wants you to experience his love and grace. He cares about your loneliness and depression. He cares if you have lost your job or business. He cares if you have lost a loved one to COVID. Let God fill the spiritual void and darkness in your life. Come to him right now in the midst of your loneliness and brokenness, and ask him to reveal his love and grace to you.

     Jesus Christ was and is God in the flesh. He can become your Savior, from fear and uncertainty, from depression and loneliness, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. You will have a new sense of peace and purpose. You can have renewed sense of worth. You are a valuable person in God’s eyes. He will unfold a new plan for your life that will make you want to go on living. 

     Psalm 27:13 says “I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”
