                                      God sees the BIG Picture!

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood. 1 Corinthians 13:12 RSV

I remember while still working, my ‘Superintendent of Postal Operations,’ whose desk was right across from mine when I was doing general accounting for the U.S. Postal Service. We’d share many moments working on fiscal matters. Often I could hear Tom like it was yesterday, “Bob, you don’t see the big picture!”

We had our challenges to know how we were to ‘balance the budget’ throughout our years working together in public service. When matters didn’t appear to work as planned, Tom would usually reply in one of two ways; “When at first you don’t succeed…. Let’s go to lunch!”  Or there might have been moments when Tom, knowing my love for the Lord, would ask; “Lay another one on me Bob.” My reply might have been something like: “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” 1Corinthians 10:13

Yes, God does see the BIG picture and always is our complete solution and way of escape for matters before us, whether it might be balancing the budget, or defining for us to understand situations we can’t know the answer to. We need to yield to the preeminence of His higher authority.

‘Father, thank you for showing us the BIG picture when our heart is out of focus’.
