Christ sought not glory for Himself, but for the One in whose name He came. Because Christ came in the name of the Father He was not accepted.
Herein Christ also warns of false prophets who would come after Him. These would seek glory and honor for themselves. They might use God’s or Christ’s name in their message, but their true motive is to seek for self. They are like wolves in sheep clothing. Do not listen to them! Your allegiance is to Jesus Christ and not to man!
