O' ship of mine lets take this time,
to think on what to say
Would you have taken the trip before
if you saw what was on it's way

Truly if you had know what was in the waters
you just might had jump ship
Some things were just too much to speak of
and they could had made you slip

Now while in those dark troubled waters
it was some things you had to do
In order to stay on, the given course
so to help her to get through

You had to throw off the crates of delusion
cast it far out of your mind
And grab a hold of peace and assurance
and then leave every fear behind

Tell faith stay on board as you go through
keep your eyes on the crown
And find yourself a song to help you along
so that you won't drown

O' ship it's not the time to make any boast
look at what is swimming your way
You can't even find a name to put on it
and it leaves no words to say

I thought about the buzzards flying over-head
and those ferocious sharks on each side
And no telling what else was on this trip
that almost makes you want to hide

There they all were jeering and laughing
beckoning, come in the waters is fine
and up above the buzzards they all were circling
saying it's ok, got plenty time to dine

I had read in the word about such a trip
and many perils that it did face
And I'm quiet sure it wasn't to their liking
and if that was their case

For except the Lord abide on the ship
then the crew would had been lost
This ship get the picture, don't leave him out
or it will suffer the cost

But I found much comfort in this way
in how that you can endure
Help will be supplied on this lonely ride
and your soul will reach the shore
