Faith Over Fear

For those of you who have adopted the virtue of fear mentality regarding Corona Virus, the ongoing "protests" or any other circumstance,

breathe.

There is nothing you can do to add one hour to your life. Listen to what the Bible says:

Job 14: 1-3, 5 (MSG)

“We’re all adrift in the same boat:

    too few days, too many troubles.

We spring up like wildflowers in the desert and then wilt,

    transient as the shadow of a cloud.”

Then, on behalf of me and you and every person on this planet who has ever been conceived, Job inquires of God.

“Do you occupy your time with such fragile wisps?” 

Then Job pens the answer, with all the wisdom and authority of the almighty creator, who holds you dear in his hands:

“Mortals have a limited life span.

    You’ve (God) already decided how long we’ll live—

    you set the boundary and no one can cross it.”

So, just take a deep breath. God has this. If your time is up, your time is up, one way or the other. God has declared that He is the almighty one, with the power over life and death, not you.

As true believers, we do not pine for this world anyway, right? How many times have we read the Apostle Paul’s declaration that, “...to live is Christ, and to die is gain?" (Philippians 1:21). You would never have caught Paul huddling in his basement in fear. This holy statement was not a death wish, but faith-filled acknowledgment that God, not chance, is ultimately in control. So, leave your anxiety behind and choose faith over fear today.
