I’m a summertime gal married to a summertime guy.

We don’t agree on everything but are in complete agreement about our dislike for winter. We can cope with summertime heat and humidity. As a rule, my guy rarely grumbles; he’s very easy going. Yet, he does have one summertime complaint; he has to mow the grass (with a push mower).

“Let them fear You while the sun endures,
And as long as the moon, throughout all generations.
May he come down like rain upon the mown grass,
Like showers that water the earth.
In his days may the righteous flourish,
And abundance of peace till the moon is no more (Psalm 72:5-7 NASB).”

Summer rains make our grass grow.

It’s a continuous cycle.

Grass grows; my husband mows.

Praise God; He keeps His children in a continuous cycle.

The righteous will flourish.

“The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree,
He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Planted in the house of the Lord,
They will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still yield fruit in old age;
They shall be full of sap and very green,
To declare that the Lord is upright;
He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him (Psalm 92:12-15 NASB).”
