The Church. ought to be able to police itself maintaining its own environment of law and order, even as it ought to be able to judge its own disputes and settle its own legal conflicts as the apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthian church. What a pathetic testimony it is to a secular judge that a church would not have enough wisdom among its membership and certainly its leadership to be able to avoid resorting to the secular court system. Similarly the local or state secular  police being summoned to a church property or function to restore order would have to conclude that those members had little authority or strength or difference about their community that would cause these public servants to want to be part of it in their free time when off duty.  In other words both situations of a church's inability to resolve its own trying situations and maintaining its own peace is a poor witness to the surrounding 🌎 world.  If anything it ought to be the opposite, and sometimes is, that judges and police come to the church for help because it is obvious to them that that church community is doing things right, making a positive difference, and getting good results in people's lives.
