PROLOUGH 

As a typical red-blooded American citizen, holding to the truths or our founding fathers alongside the truths and principles of divine Scripture, (II Timothy 3:16) and (II Peter 1:20-21), I have deep concerns for America’s forthcoming national election.

These concerns include reprehensible conduct, false or misleading broadcast reporting, misused funds, and possible voter fraud. (Isaiah 5:20)

I know I shouldn’t have such a doubtful attitude, as my Creator God is in full control of all happenings, including our country’s upcoming national election. Nonetheless, oftentimes in my mortal body, “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41) I guess, it's just that my flesh tends to take over any godly thoughts I may have of future events.

So, please allow me a little musing here. You may or may not agree with or relate to the gist of this dream world fiction blog. But I trust that you will read the blog with an open mind. Here is America The Bewildered.

I was sitting in my study, my trusty laptop at hand, mulling over the writing of my college dissertation “America The Bewildered,” when it happened. I don’t know exactly why it happened as it did, but it just did. I had a dream. It was the most unusual dream of my adult dream world. Was it simply a fictional occurrence or did it really happen, this most unusual dream?

I found myself suddenly standing in the midst of a large oval office. Sitting behind a large ornate desk surrounded by an array of flags, was a well-dressed blond-haired man of distinguished stature. His nicely pressed blue suit, white shirt and red tie seemed to stand out in sharp relief as well.

My attention was suddenly directed to a large, well-worn black Bible lying open on his desk. I could tell at a glance a particular passage of Scripture was well marked. I knew better than to disturb this gentleman’s meditation, however. Really what drew my attention was the big flow of tears dripping down his cheeks onto this Bible. This distinguished looking gentleman had no need of conversation, for his actions said it all.

Stacked all around the room floor were an array of newspapers apparently bearing bad news. Headlines such as “Another City Falls to Pressure,” “Riots Continue Downtown,” “Destruction Causes Major Damage in Business District,” “Many Police Injured in Brawl,” and “Governor and Mayor Give Up Hope.” It was, a grand mess of very bad news. No wonder he had tears.

One paper lying in the corner separated from all the others even appeared to be covered with dried blood. Its heading, given in big bold type, was entirely different from all the others which read, “America’s First Lady President Soon to Be Crowned.”

Before I had a chance to speak, or have the nicely dressed man respond to the situation, a parade of military officers, dressed in full battle gear, suddenly broke into the room, and motioned this man to go with them. He did, hurrying from the room, leaving me alone in his office. Sensing our visit to be over, I started walking towards the door.

On my way out, curiosity got the better of me. I couldn’t help but stop to read the tear- stained, highlighted Scripture passage.

“During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven and said: “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever wisdom and power are His. He changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him. I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors You have given me wisdom and power, You have made known to me what we asked of You, You have made known to us the dream of the king.” (Daniel 2:19-23)

Walking through the door, my dream ended. It was over as quickly as it started, causing me to wonder just what had takin place with the unusual gentleman. There I was, back home in my study and still holding my laptop.

As I sat there in my study, a memory suddenly came back to me. The year was 2016. Two candidates of totally opposite political views were in a struggle to see who would occupy America’s White House. One, a familiar female politician with many years of political service; the other, a well-known business man with little or no political experience or service.

The professional politician, according to all political viewpoints, was a shoo-in to be elected. Nonetheless, I remembered who won the election, and is now doing quite well as president of The United States, in spite of on-going progressive, liberal pressure.

But this is year 2020, four years later, so what will happen next? I trust you will enjoy reading my thoughts on the subject.

If you believe in God’s Word, as I do, this upcoming 2020 United States presidential election will be our country’s most important presidential election in American’s history. It's a matter of continued liberty and freedom for all, versus a socialistic communistic lifestyle.

If you like your freedom, you may vote to keep it. It’s your choice, by way of the voting booth. If you prefer the opposite, then that’s your choice as well. However, we live in a republic and only one of America’s political mindsets will win. Or, will it?

I strongly believe our living Creator, God, is still on the Throne. God is not dead, He is very much alive, guiding the events and culture of this great universe of ours. Regardless of your political feelings, the God of Heaven will win out.

If God decides to give America another chance, regardless of our evil, liberal mindset, thereby continuing a positive godly influence in this old world of ours, (Galatians 5:22-23), then you may enjoy the fruits of His labor.

If God chooses to punish America for its ungodly deeds and lifestyle (Galatians 5:19-21), His choice will not be yours. We serve a kind, loving, just and patient Heavenly Father, but God can and does judge sinful nations. (Numbers 23:19)

In 1947, forward-looking sociologist Dr. Carle Zimmerman identified a list of final decay that led to the fall of the Greek and Roman civilizations.
“No-fault divorce - Meaningless marriage rites – Ceremonies - Defamation of past national heroes - Acceptance of alternative marriage forms - Widespread attitudes of feminism, narcissism, hedonism - Propagation of antifamily sentiment - Acceptance of most forms of adultery - Rebellious children - Increased juvenile delinquency - Common acceptance of all forms of sexual perversion."

What about it? May twenty-first century America draw a parallel to the Greek and Roman demise? Notice abortion was not an issue in the above listing. So add the deaths of over fifty million unborn children to the mix.

Based on America’s current evil, liberal mindset, look out, my friends. God’s judgment will surely come, if repentance is not realized, based on the Bible and history.

In either case, no power on earth, spiritual or otherwise, will stop God’s divine purpose from occurring. We have only to remember the 2016 election.

Down through the ages we have seen God’s Providence at work. God purified the world of evil with the great Flood. (Genesis 7:5-7,11-13, 21) He destroyed the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18:20-21,19,13, 24-26, 7-29).

God preserved the life of His great patriarch Moses, by hiding him in the bulrushes of the Nile river to escape Pharaoh’s death degree on all Jewish babies. (Exodus 2:1-10)

God’s only begotten Son, Jesus, was preserved from death throughout the New Testament until the time was right for His sacrificial death. The New Testament book of Acts also has many incidences of escape of the newly-made Christians from dangers from the religious establishment.

And consider the greatest event of recent Jewish history, Israel’s restoration as a nation on May 14, 1948. The American State Department was against the resolution. It was uncertain if president Roosevelt would vote to sanction Israel’s rebirth. However, Roosevelt’s death brought on the presidency of Harry Truman who was in favor of the resolution's passage. In this way God fulfilled one of the most important dated prophecies of the entire Bible.

So, there you have in part, my dissertation. It is a simple theme of God’s sovereign control over us all, which includes who occupies all positions of authority. (Daniel 4:35) (Psalm 145:9) (Psalm 105:5)

Regardless of our surroundings, what is going on around us, and the feelings of America’s populace we, as freedom-loving Americans must never resort to being boastful, challenging one another, envying one another. (Galatians 5:26)

Though we may be called to freedom, we Americans should never turn our freedom into an opportunity for the fleshly desire, but through love serve one another. (Galatians 5:13,15)

However, the day is coming when there will be no more disease, calamities, and disasters in the world. Jesus will return and make all things new and perfect. God’s redeemed people will live in

God’s presence, experiencing fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11) But until then, what about this upcoming presidential election? We must not forget recent events.

We must all be registered, ready and willing to vote our God-given consciences. We must all do our homework.

EPILOGUE

We are surely, as a nation, living in troublesome times. Will there ever be another national election? Will this upcoming American election be the last?

Are we Americans now living in the End Times, as we know them to be? And will the upcoming election in any way closely precede these End Time events? Mind-bending questions are being asked, these days.

My opinion is we are moving swiftly in that direction. We are not the first to ask such a question. The disciples asked the same question of our Lord. (Matthew 24-3)

We must be cautious in assuming such, as Scripture is quick to tell us nobody, not even the angels or the Son Himself knows when the Lord will come back. (Matthew 24:36) However, we are not left in the dark with respect to the signs of His coming back. Please read the Twenty-fourth chapter of Matthew’s gospel.

Obviously, the perils of Apostasy have crept into today’s oppressive political life style. (II Timothy 3:1-9,13) And a good portion of today’s church are no longer content to hear the sound teachings of Scripture, but are turning to many different false teachers to satisfy themselves. (II Timothy 4:3-4) This Apostasy alone is the major sign of His returning.

And today’s common thought is that the prophecy of His coming is really not true. (II Peter 3: 3-4)
So is America, as a leader within the world’s affairs, now living in the End Times, as we know them to be? There are no remaining prophecies that need be fulfilled for the Rapture of the Saints (Christians) to take place. This is the actual catching away of all Christians living and dead in the air to be forever with the Lord. (I Corinthians 15:51-54) (I Thessalians 4:15-18) (Revelation 4:1)

What should we do as God’s people in preparation of this upcoming presidential election? God gives His people a very precise commandment followed by a promise. It’s found in (II Chronicles 7:14). Amen!
