Lord, when my burdens seem a little more than I can bear,
And my troubles are more than I can share,
And I wonder if I can take another one of life’s blows,
Lord, remind me that it is only You who truly knows.
When tears seem to flood the streets of my weary life
And my dwelling place is filled with much pain and strife,
And on my face, my hurt and disappointment begin to show,
Lord, be my constant reminder that only You know.
When enemies are many and friends are few,
And hard times seem to be all I go through,
And my heart loses its spiritual glow,
Lord, help me to realize that only You know.
Lord, only You know how much I can bear,
Only You know why life is sometimes unkind and unfair.
Only You know the troubles I see.
Only You know the very depths of my misery.
Only You know what’s working for my good: mentally, financially and spiritually.
Only You know my past, present and eternal destiny.
