It’s not that I don’t love the life we share,
Nor is it that I really don’t care,
But the fact is I love you with all of my heart,
Even enough to allow us to depart
So that you can live the life you choose to live,
And give the type of love you desire to give.
It’s not that I’m looking for someone new,
Nor that I don’t wish to be with you,
But the fact is I realize that you need much more
Than just someone to love and truly adore.
You need someone who accepts you as you are,
One who cherishes your dreams as a shining star.
It’s not that I don’t appreciate the sacrifices you’ve made,
Or that the love we’ve shared is beginning to fade,
But I desire for you to reach your life’s goal,
And enjoy your days before you grow old.
It’s not that I don’t love you at all,
Or that I’m trying to build a dividing wall
Between us to shatter the life we share,
Or to ignore how much I know you care,
But the fact is I love you enough
To realize that being with me is getting a bit tough,
And I don’t desire to see you unhappy,
Nor do I desire to have you live in misery,
But, I love you enough to let you go
To seek, and to find the love you desire to know
For another and for your life as a whole,
A love that gives you complete joy within your very soul.
So, as I step back and walk away,
Just accept my efforts as the price I’m willing to pay
To see you happy and your life fulfilled from this time on,
For, it is not my desire to see you unhappy and alone.
I can see that it is now time for me to walk away
Because I will only be a hindrance if I continue to stay.

this is the second article i am reading from you. you are very passionate and this is reflected in your works. this are strong words of love and selflessness. for there is time to be and a time not to be. you have done an excellent piece that encourages those who love and are at pains to give way to the sometime tragic decisions from those that we do love. keep up and encourage hope.
